About Bilal Community Center

Bilal Community Center is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian, and non-tribal Islamic association dedicated for the welfare of Ethiopian Muslims living around the Greater Dallas area.

It is a great opportunity that the members of the Bilal Ethiopian Muslim community could come together to address the need for developing a community that has matured through the teaching of Islam and the guidance of our beloved prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

As a non-profit, religious organization, Bilal Community Center is incorporated under section 501[c]3 of the IRS code. The article of incorporation is filed with the secretary of the state of Texas.

Services

In addition to helping with basic Islamic and Quran studies, Bilal Community Center provides the following programs without discriminating people who are in need of the services using volunteers among its community members.

  • After school and weekend academic support in different subjects to various grade levels for disadvantaged kids, mostly focusing on Math & Science tutorial. The aim of the program is to help kids who come from less educated families to succeed in their education.
  • Basic Computer Literacy class for adults to give them some working knowledge and skills to use computers and the Internet.
  • Youth programs that can help fight drug problems among various communities. Bilal community center is creating awareness and serves as “community watch" within and in collaboration with the neighboring communities. The youth group is giving different community services in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.
